Together Trust and The Turnpike gallery partner on collaborative art project

We are delighted to announce that as part of our 150th-anniversary celebrations we have partnered with The Turnpike gallery in Wigan on a development programme for artists living and working in Greater Manchester.

The Making of Us is a professional development programme for socially engaged artists, aiming to develop post-pandemic practices with a focus on working with young people between 13-25 years, facing adversity.

Hard work during lockdown pays off with GCSE success for students with special educational needs and disabilities

Students at Ashcroft School and Inscape House School, both part of the Together Trust, are today receiving confirmation that their hard work has paid off with a set of fantastic results.

Alongside GCSE qualifications, a number of students have also completed BTEC studies, Duke of Edinburgh Awards and Functional Skills qualifications.

Inscape students have A Level success despite national result day concerns

For students across the country 13 August 2020 has been etched in their minds for some time now. However with Covid-19 and last minute reforms to A Level and GCSE grading, this week has not been easy for students.

For students at specialist schools and colleges, these strange and uncertain times have created yet more barriers in a world where a great deal already exist. Despite these challenges students at Inscape House School are celebrating a number of fantastic results.

Last month, Darren Evans, Behaviour Analyst and PBS Lead at Bridge College, hosted a webinar in collaboration with The Association of National Specialist Colleges (NATSPEC). The webinar provides an opportunity to learn about a range of practical positive behaviour support (PBS) strategies and how these can be used to improve access and engagement in learning. The session also includes strategies for use by parents, staff and students, in the home learning environment and an education setting.

Inscape Art Department has plenty to celebrate!

There have been multiple reasons to celebrate for art students at Inscape House School with recognition for their fantastic work coming in various shapes and sizes. While the current healthcare pandemic has put a hold on the majority of school and college work across the country, a number of students from Inscape have been able to complete their projects and start planning for what their future holds.

Young People and Adults’ Achievement Awards is one of the Together Trust's greatest annual events when we all get together to celebrate and recognise the incredible achievements of the people we support. Unfortunately, this year’s event couldn’t go ahead at Manchester City FC as planned due to the pandemic but our services still managed to celebrate and acknowledge the resilience of the people we support at this extraordinary time. Bridge College photo competition winners announced

Bridge College has held its yearly photography competition and we’ve been truly blown away with all the stunning entries.

The competition was open to students that attend specialist education schools and colleges throughout the North West. Students were invited to send us their photography around the theme, “This is me” This was a great opportunity to get creative and to show off photography skills while schools and colleges haven’t been open to all during this unprecedented time.

As part of the Disabled Children’s Partnership (DCP) we are launching research which finds that's disabled children and their families have had vital care and support withdrawn during the coronavirus pandemic. Over 4000 families with disabled children and young people told us that they were being #LeftInLockdown.

Jacob hits top gear to help Inscape School

Jacob Milward is a student at Inscape House School, the Together Trust school that breaks down barriers to learning for children and young people with autism. When Jacob realised that there was a gap in accessibility in transport at the school he was determined to help solve the matter. So, here’s Jacob’s story, and it’s a good one.

Manchester Evening News Print Editor set to judge Bridge College photo competition

The competition is being run by the Together Trust’s Bridge College and is being judged by Paul Coates, the Print Editor at the Manchester Evening News.
