Between 30 April and 2 May, students from Ashcroft School and Inscape House School successfully completed their Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh's Award expeditions.

It has been a busy term for the young people at Ashcroft School who took on a new direction in their curriculum: Animal Assisted Intervention with our award-winning practitioner, Danielle.

Last month, five students from Ashcroft School embarked on a two-day qualifying expedition to achieve their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh's Award.

On 10 May, a staff member at Ashcroft College, one of the Together Trust’s specialist education settings, received the winning nomination for Justteacher’s North West branch’s Teacher of the Term award.

On Friday, 5 May, the Together Trust’s Ashcroft School, which supports children and young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs, was decked out in red, white and blue as students and staff commemorated the Coronation of King Charles III.

Students from Ashcroft and Inscape House schools enjoyed a visit from Laura, Noah, and assistance dog Summer from Wild Spirit Training this week.

One of our charity’s specialist schools, Ashcroft School, held its annual and long-awaited sports day last week, as pupils and teachers enjoyed participating in an Olympic-themed day of activities.

Kyran is 13 years old and has been a student at Ashcroft School since May last year. As well as thriving in his new educational environment, Kyran has also quickly become a strong advocate for the Together Trust outside of school. In November, students at Ashcroft College organised a ‘Client day’, which takes place every term and aims to support our learners, working towards their Hair and Beauty BTEC Level 1 qualification. The young people invited all the Together Trust colleagues to take part and get treated with a day at the college salon. Clients had the opportunity to choose from a range of beauty treatments the students have been learning about throughout the term, including hairstyling, nails and facials.

Students at one of our specialist schools, Ashcroft College, have worked with the digital agency Creative Concern to produce a short film about their experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic. Guided by Claire and Chris from the agency, the students planned, filmed and edited the short piece, experiencing what it is like to work as a professional filmmaker. The young people enjoyed learning new practical skills such as filming, sound recording, post-production, and screening the finished product, but the experience also allowed them to develop their leadership and creative thinking skills.
