On 15 February, students from Inscape House School, one of our specialist learning environments, were invited to Mercedes in Stockport for a tour of their showroom and to learn about jobs at the company

This month, the government published their plans for reforming children’s social care, Stable Homes, Built on Love. Touted as a once in a generation opportunity to reset the dial and improve young people’s life chances, the opportunity to improve life for more than 80,000 children in care risks slipping away. It is not that there is no ambition, it is that there is no money. 

Inscape House School hosted their much-awaited LGBTQ+ History month event with lots of fun activities to encourage students to understand, celebrate and promote inclusive communities in school. 

The award-winning poet and lyricist Terry Caffrey visited one of our specialist provisions, Inscape House School, on Thursday, 19 January, to read from his entertaining book of poems, "It Wasn't Me Miss", and gave students a glimpse into the world of an author, hoping to inspire them with their reading and writing.

The date of Chinese New Year changes every year, but it always falls between 21 January and 20 February. The day of the Chinese New Year is a new moon day, usually the second after the winter solstice. This year it was on 22 January 2023.

An online survey undertaken by the children’s rights charity Article 39, as part of the national #KeepCaringTo18 campaign, was completed by 355 teenagers aged 16 and 17 between 20 November 2022 and 1 January 2023.

Today, we have outlined our concerns to the Department for Education about their plans to regulate semi-independent accommodation for 16- and 17-year-olds.
