For current parents and carers

At Inscape, it’s our vision to provide a learning environment that places your child at the heart of everything we do, where they feel valued and can thrive.

Here you’ll find useful information, key documents and policies as well as some intereting resources for parents and carers of existing students at Inscape House School.

But if there’s anything we’ve missed, get in touch with us and we’d be happy to help.

Term dates

Like all schools, our academic year runs from September to the following July. You can find our detailed term dates along with information on school holidays and closures here.

School opening hours

Our day starts at 8.55am and finishes at 3.00pm. Registration for the morning closes at 9.30am and at 2.00pm in the afternoon.

Uniforms

We recognise that some of our students have sensory issues when it comes to clothing, so we offer a range of uniform items. Students in Post-16 can wear their own clothes, but we recommend that they choose something comfortable.

You can read our full uniform policy here.

School meals and snacks

Students have the option of a school meal or packed lunch. We offer different options each day, taking into account our students’ different dietary requirements and taste. If your child has a special diet, let us know – we’re happy to support this.

We also provide daily healthy snacks as part of our personal, social and health education (PSHE) programme. This programme helps students develop social and communication skills, learn about making healthy choices and extend their food range

Useful phone numbers and websites

To contact Inscape House School, call 0161 283 4750.

To contact Together Trust or find out about our other services, call 0161 283 4848.

You can find a list of other useful phone numbers and websites for students and parents here.

Medications

We can administer medications but we need your permission in writing. Any time we administer medication, we record it on your child’s file so you can keep up to date.

Keeping in touch

We keep in touch with parents in many different ways, including through informal meetings, placement and annual reviews, the Parents Partnership on social media, email, home-school books, parent forums and parents evening, and newsletters and the school website.

If we need to speak to you directly, you can get in touch with us via email or over the phone.

Family Reviews

The style of review held for your child at Inscape House School is called a ‘Person Centred Review’. This type of review covers all requirements your Local Authority expect from us.

A Person-Centred Review focuses on, what people like and admire about your child, what’s important to them and how best to support them.  We will look at what’s working well in their life and what might not be working as well and planning for the future etc.
