Cheshire resident receives MBE for more than a quarter of a century’s service to local charities

A Cheshire resident received an MBE from Princess Anne recently in a ceremony held at Buckingham Palace. Wendy Coomer was awarded the honour, which was announced in the 2019 Queen’s Birthday Honours List , in recognition of her services to young people and the community in Cheshire. Mrs Coomer has been actively involved with the Stockport based charity the Together Trust in a variety of volunteer roles for more than a quarter of a century.

Manchester based Medicines Evaluation Unit raises more two and a half thousand pounds for the Together Trust

The Medicines Evaluation Unit (MEU) presented the Together Trust with a cheque for £2,688.28 recently, raised by the MEU during its two year charity partnership with the Together Trust, which is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year. 

MEU, which is based on the Wythenshawe Hospital site in south Manchester, is one of the UK’s leading contract research organisations, possessing extensive pharmaceutical, scientific and clinical expertise.

A new exhibition at the Lowry Centre has opened this week in which work from children and adults, supported by the Greater Manchester based charity the Together Trust, is being exhibited as part of the charity’s 150th anniversary celebrations.

The Mayor of Trafford Visits Bridge College in Manchester

Bridge College, a specialist further education college in Openshaw in Manchester, welcomed the Mayor of Trafford, Councillor Rob Chilton, for a visit this week.

The visit was hosted by the Principal Lisa Duncalf and the Mayor was given a tour of the college, which meets the needs of students up to the age of 25 years with learning difficulties and disabilities, complex health needs, communication disorders and autism.

Gone but not forgotten – North West charity the Together Trust uses social media to remember the fallen of WW1

In the run up to Armistice Day the North West disability charity the Together Trust is honouring the 400 former pupils, residents and members of staff who served in the First World War by using social media to publish some of their individual stories.
