Together Trust's Music and Performing Arts Festival: A dazzling celebration of talent

A collage featuring four photos: one captures a student beaming with joy while standing proudly on stage, another showcases a student dancing, filled with energy and passion. The third photo depicts a group of talented students immersed in their music, playing various instruments. Finally, the fourth image shows a dramatic scene, highlighting the intensity and creativity of a powerful theater act.
20 June 2025

On 4 June, joy and creativity flourished at the Lowry Theatre as students from 12 specialised educational settings across Greater Manchester and Cheshire gathered for the highly anticipated Together Trust's Music and Performing Arts Festival.

Hosted by the Together Trust charity, this extraordinary event celebrated the artistic talents of students with disabilities and special health needs, showcasing their passion for contemporary music in front of family, friends, and the public.

A student who took the stage for the first time and enjoyed every moment of performing and being part of the audience said: “All the acts were amazing and I loved it. Best. Music Festival. Ever!”

The festival was a vibrant display of talent, featuring the catchy rhythms of Inscape House School’s Boomwhacker Band and an inspiring Sing & Sign Performance by Silver Birch & Pine Class from Newlands School. The stage came alive with solo acts and dance duets by students from Inscape House Vocational College, alongside engaging sing and sign performances from various schools.

Attendees were treated to a captivating drama presentation by Bridge College, featuring a delightful rendition of ‘Alice in Wonderland,’ in addition to dynamic dance performances and more entertainment throughout the day.

The event fostered an inclusive atmosphere, with children and young people from the Together Trust—representing Bridge College, Inscape House Vocational College and Inscape House School—sharing the spotlight with their peers from Springwood Primary, Rowan Tree Primary, Piper Hill High School, and Newlands School.

Phil McIntyre, the Music Teacher at Inscape House School who assisted our students in getting ready for the festival, shared:

“This event holds significant importance, and it brings me joy to witness how talented and confident pupils from various schools within the Together Trust charity and other SEN institutions throughout Greater Manchester can be - we are already making plans for next year!”

The event was honoured by the presence of Deputy Mayor of Stockport, Councillor Gary Lawson, accompanied by his Consort, Mr Timothy Wade, who praised the young performers for their incredible talent and effort.

This festival provided a remarkable platform for these budding artists to shine, and we hope everyone in attendance enjoyed the inspiring performances.
