Inscapism Speaks, the brand new podcast created by students

Two students sitting at a table working on laptops. A man wearing heaphones is holding a microphone up to them to let them speak.
10 June 2025

There are many stories to be told about Inscape House School, so students have been busy producing their very own podcast to share with the world: Inscapism Speaks. They have been working with one of Digital Advantage’s expert industry trainers, Paul Holloway, who has extensive media experience with big names like the BBC and Hits Radio, as well as experience working with young people, having been part of Pure Innovations.

Digital Advantage is an innovative charity that delivers outreach programmes into schools and colleges designed to give students an insight into creative and digital industries. They have also been working with the students at Bridge College on their very own podcast: Bridge Pods Back.

As part of the Digital News Agency programme, students from Inscape House School got expert coaching from Paul on key stages of developing their own digital newsroom, becoming multi-media journalists, website developers and graphic designers.

Digital Advantage says “From creating a project identity and designing a logo to generating original content, the students took ownership of every aspect of their digital newsroom.”

For the first edition Finley, Maddie, Harry and Jake focused on stories relevant to them: the work experience students are doing with Mercedes-Benz in Stockport, a quiz show, and an exclusive interview with Judit Tolnai, the teacher in charge of the programme.

We loved working with Digital Advantage again this year and would love the chance to follow up with another project where the students from this cohort can support the new students to build on the Inscapism website, if funding allows.
Richard Nancollis, Post 16 Deputy Head at Inscape House School

This isn’t our students’ first experience into media, our young people already have their own school-wide magazine called Inscapism. Coordinated by Judit, the students write their own stories, come up with comics, take on the editor role, and design the printed magazine. Thanks to Digital Advantage, they have also recently digitised their magazine and build a brand new website for it. Take a look!

Judit says “It is really great to organise a workshop like this for the students because they can work towards something they are passionate about; they are trying new skills and it’s nice to see the students becoming a team by the end of the project.”
