Inscape House School celebrate Autism Awareness Month with Barlcays

Autism Awareness month is a big celebration at Together Trust: from school-wide events to trips out, blogs, talks and volunteering.
Our staff and students have recently been invited to the World Autism Acceptance event at the Barclays offices in Manchester to “help raise awareness and promote autism acceptance, celebrate neurodiversity and contribute to building inclusivity at Barclays”.
Staff members from across all Barclays sites were invited to come along for a full day of engaging talks, a bake sale, a raffle and games – all to learn more about autism. Our students and staff brought along some sensory toys and videos about Inscape to showcase all sides of the school. Greg Loynes, Assistant Head, was also invited to talk, assisted by the helpful Mason and Alfie, about Inscape House School.

Everyone was really welcoming and kind, and our students had the opportunity to play games like air hockey and learn the basics of boxing, as well as enjoying some delicious cake.
We’re really grateful for collaborations like these and amazing people like Rabia who fundraise for us. The team have been collecting donations for the Together Trust through a bake sale, a raffle and an auction. On top of that, they have also donated £150 on behalf of Costco for our services.

Rabia and her team first came to Inscape House School on their volunteering days and have since been great allies spreading the message of autism acceptance. Their Knutsford team have also donated 77 chocolate eggs for our Easter Appeal and joined us for our Corporate Volunteering days, helping us pack Easter eggs for the people we support.
