Hundreds of bikers play Santa to drop off gifts for vulnerable children at the Together Trust
Last Sunday, hundreds of local bikers dressed as Father Christmas and his helpers rode to the Together Trust campus in Cheadle to deliver presents they had donated to raise a smile on the faces of the children the charity supports. A convoy of motorbikes, scooters and trikes arrived decorated with glitter and tinsel and dropped off sackfuls of much-anticipated presents as a part of an annual Christmas toy run.
Jenny Taylor, Registered Manager at Pearce Lodge, one of the Together Trust's residential homes for young people and adults with disabilities and complex health needs, shared:
Lucy Sawdon-Molloy, Head of Fundraising at the Together Trust, added: “There was a fantastic turnout, despite the freezing temperatures, and the bikers were generous as always. Some bikers who couldn’t travel given the weather donated cash or dropped their toys off at the Town Hall Tavern in Stockport to be brought in cars by other bikers.”
The appeal has been an annual event for 22 years now, thanks to the generous local community of the Roughley’s bikers. Andy Roughley and hundreds of his pals never fail to bring joy and excitement to our young people and adults over Easter too, which is when we are looking forward to welcoming them again.
