Bridge College community commemorates the 80th anniversary of VE Day with a tea party and musical tribute

On 19 May, students and staff at Bridge College gathered to honour the 80th Anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day.
This commemoration provided an opportunity for the college community to engage with and reflect on this significant historical milestone while celebrating British culture.
The highlight of the event was a traditional 1940s-style street party held in the college’s garden. Attendees enjoyed themed food, music from the era, and dressed in 1940s attire, contributing to a vibrant atmosphere.
In the weeks leading up to the event, students actively participated in the creation of decorations and the planning of the day’s festivities.
Another staff member expressed their sentiments, stating, "The celebration captured the essence of joyful remembrance through dance, song, and music, all delivered with a mindful appreciation for the historical context and a deep respect for the lives lost."
We are thankful to the staff at Bridge College for their dedication and efforts in organising this commemorative event, fostering a spirit of unity and reflection within the college community.
