Bridge and Inscape House awarded CyberFirst in nationwide first

We are thrilled to announce that Bridge College, our specialist higher education provision in Openshaw, and Inscape House School, our school for autistic children in Cheadle, have been awarded CyperFirst honours!

CyberFirst is a government-backed outreach and education programme designed to create opportunities for talented young people in future-focused tech careers. The programme supports students from all backgrounds to consider a career in tech – including cyber security, AI, quantum computing, software, data and more.

Bridge College and Inscape House have been involved in trialling this pilot over the past academic year. We’re delighted to share Bridge College has achieved CyperFirst Bronze and Inscape House School has achieved CyberFirst Gold – the first SEND school in the UK to do so!

These awards don’t come easily – schools are assessed by experts from local government, academia, and industry to demonstrate excellence in cyber education.

Becoming part of the CyberFirst programme offers an exciting range of opportunities – including a university bursary scheme, a girls-only competition, and opportunities to attend free events and courses across the UK.

This fantastic achievement from both schools will unlock lots of enrichment experiences for our young people from September and the opportunity to thrive in the UK’s tech industry. Congratulations to all who have been involved!
