Supported living

We support disabled people to live well in their own home by offering assistance and a safe pair of hands.

About supported living

Our supported living service is shaped to fit the individual. We help people to build their independence, to do the things they want to do, and to be part of their local communities.

What is supported living?

Supported living offers adults who require care or support a flexible alternative to residential care, enabling people to live independently in their own homes with personalised support tailored to their needs.

Our service is tailored to the person, so hours of support could vary from just a few hours a week to more extensive daily care.

Who is supported living for?

Across homes in Greater Manchester, we provide bespoke, person-centred support for autistic and disabled adults. Our expert staff can support people with a range of needs and behaviours, including more complex behaviours such as emotional and behavioural disorder (EBD).

Get in touch if you’d like to find out more about our Supported Living service and whether we could support you.

What’s the difference between residential care and supported living?

Supported Living is a more flexible alternative where adults are supported independently in their own homes.

With residential care, residents live in a shared house which receives full-time care. You can read more about Residential Care here.

The care we provide

We’re committed to providing a robust package of care to enable people to remain within their local areas and access their local community. We work to reduce barriers, building communication and increasing leisure skills.

The support we offer is tailored for each person, but it could include:

  • Taking part in hobbies and activities, such as attending local day services, and support using public transport to access these activities when needed
  • Food planning and cooking
  • Building life-skills and doing chores (eg. going shopping, managing money)
  • Support attending appointments (GPs, opticians, etc.) and creating picture boards where needed to help communicate important information
  • Arranging work or volunteering placements
