Together we thrive
We’re one of the North West’s leading disability charities.
For over 150 years, we’ve been championing and caring for people with disabilities, autism and complex health needs, as well as providing life-changing support for care-experienced people.

Our impact
Award winning care and support
We began our work all the way back in 1870, when our charity was set up to care for vulnerable children in need of support across the Manchester and Salford areas. Back then, we were known as the Manchester and Salford Boys’ and Girls’ Refuges and Homes.
Over 150 years later, we’ve expanded and shaped our services to fit the people we work with. Across over 40 services in the North West, we now deliver individual care, support and education services for thousands of disabled, neurodivergent, and care-experienced people each year.

Working towards a brighter future
The people we support tell us that they face daily discrimination, hardship and barriers. We work alongside the people we support to create change and make sure their voices are heard.
