Mohammed, one of our brilliant students from Bridge College has been working alongside our teams in Central Office on a variety of project as part of his work experience.
The Bridge College team knew Mohammed has an eye for design and likes working with computers and technology, so the placement with our Communications team was a perfect match. The first module saw Mohammed take turns working with various team members in the Communications team expanding his knowledge in graphic design apps like Canva.
I enjoyed working with the comms team and try new fonts and designs on Canva. I liked making the posters and videos for the college social media team.
Mohammed
During his time with the Communication team, Mohammed produced posters for student events, and materials promoting the Bridge College social media accounts.
On top of that, he has filmed and edited a short film featuring students and tutors, and contributed the idea for introducing a new ‘Student Voices’ section in the Bridge College newsletter. There, he wrote about the Student Assembly, a student-led council, and the building extension currently underway.
Jade, Internal Communications Officer, says:
“We recognise how daunting it can be to step into a new environment, meet new colleagues, and learn new skills all at once. He has handled it with confidence, creativity, and enthusiasm. Well done Mohammed, keep up the fantastic work!”
You can admire some of his designs below.

Building on those skills, he has now joined the Fundraising team, where he helps design posters and flyers for a range of events we organise at the Trust.
Zoe, Fundraising Officer, says:
“Mohammed is only halfway through his placement with us, but he has already produced some excellent designs to support our Network Breakfasts and Join Together Festival. We have some new exciting projects lined up for the rest of his time with us and can’t wait to see what he’ll produce.”
We are incredibly proud of Mohammed and everything he has achieved during his placement!
Work experience is an integral part of our curriculum. We’re looking for employers to offer a work experience placement for a few hours each week to young people from Greater Manchester.
Can your business help a young person with SEND gain work experience?
