When she’s not writing responses to green papers to the Government, giving evidence in Parliament or leading on our campaigns, Styliana, our Charity Policy and Campaigns Manager, is a shuffle dance instructor.
And recently, her two passions for dance and work have collided in the form of an exclusive dance class for students at Inscape House School and a dance class fundraiser for the school.
Dancing with students
When the team at Inscape House School learned that one of our staff members is a dance coach, they immediately thought about a group of students that have been wanting to kickstart their own dance club at school.
Styliana offered to show the students some introductory shuffle moves, and after an hour of practice together, the two students were already dancing like pros!
Styliana says “I am so grateful for the opportunity to share my love for shuffle dance with students at Inscape. I really enjoyed every minute of it, and I have to say, they absolutely smashed it!”
Dancing with purpose
Styliana has also been hosting her own shuffle dance class in aid of the Together Trust.
Her event raised almost £90 going towards the annual Inscape House School residential trip.
This yearly event sees autistic students engage in a 3-day, 2-night trip to an activity park, specifically focused around our school leavers. This enables students to form memories, socialise with peers and experience fun activities like canoeing, treetop courses or archery.
