Bridge College takes over the Manchester Velodrome for an unforgettable sports day

Bridge College brought lots of energy to the iconic Manchester Velodrome this month as the whole college came together for one of the most fun events of the year, Sports Day.

Each team of young people represented a country, and they took this opportunity to do what Bridge College do best, get creative! The venue was bursting with colour as teams showed off their incredible creativity through decorated headwear, flags, and banners. Some standout favourites included Team UK, whose flag was beautifully created using students’ handprints, and Team Australia, who went all out with cork-adorned sun hats, a cardboard kangaroo, and boomerangs waving proudly in the air.

The day began with a fantastic opening ceremony, where each team proudly paraded around the velodrome, waving their flags to cheers and applause from supporters. The atmosphere was amazing and set the tone for a day full of fun, teamwork, and friendly competition.

After the opening ceremony, students went ahead and participated in a wide range of activities. From long jump and running to javelin, boccia, and hurdles, there was something for everyone to enjoy, even Bridge College colleagues. Each team had a dedicated scorekeeper, tracking their achievements throughout the day.
