The general election is only three days away.
By the end of this week, we will know who will be running the country for the next five years.
In this blog, I share what you need to do to prepare to vote.
Make sure your postal vote arrives on time!
Your postal vote needs to arrive at your local electoral office by polling day at the latest. This means you need to allow time for the posties to deliver it.
If you miss this deadline, you can take it into the polling station on the 4th July. But you’ll need to complete a short form when you arrive. This is a new rule so don’t get caught out.
Voting in person? Remember your form of ID
When you go to your local polling station to vote, you need to show a form of ID.
Accepted forms of ID include:
- passport, or
- driving licence, or
- blue badge, or
- disabled person’s bus pass.

Easy read manifestos
Campaign spokespeople from My Vote My Voice emailed parties taking part in the general election asking them to produce easy read manifestos. They’ve heard back from some and some have published their easy read manifestos.
