Campaigning with Limited Resources: Sharing Insights and Building Networks at the VCFSE Meet Greet and Grow Conference

On 11 March, Sophie, our Comms and Marketing Manager, and I had the pleasure of attending the Meet, Greet and Grow conference hosted by Sector 3 for the Voluntary, Community, Faith, and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) sector in Stockport.

We led a workshop on Campaigning with Limited Resources, which provided an incredible opportunity to engage with like-minded professionals and share insights into effective campaigning.

About the conference

At the beginning of the conference, we introduced Nathaniel Yates, a grassroots campaigner at the forefront of advocating for better rail accessibility in Greater Manchester.

We have been supporting his campaigning efforts for the past few years. Nathaniel shared his compelling journey, highlighting the importance of persistence and dedication in bringing about change.

It was fantastic to hear from the Stockport LGBTQ+ Network’s local campaigning too and their success in drafting a motion that was passed last November.

Sophie and I then led a workshop on Campaigning with Limited Resources. In doing so, we explored the ins and outs of our rail accessibility campaign. From community and political engagement to strategic partnerships, social media, and other methods of communication, we shared practical strategies that helped us make an impact despite the constraints.

“Being part of this event was a fantastic opportunity not only to share our learning but also to build new networks and strengthen relationships across the sector. We had a chance to meet passionate individuals and organisations driving positive change in their communities, and it was inspiring to hear their stories and challenges.”

– Styliana, Charity Policy and Campaigns Manager
