For students
At Inscape, we provide a learning environment that places our students at the heart of everything we do, where you feel valued and can thrive.
Every day at Inscape is a little different, but we have some information here about classes and school life that can help you know what to expect.

Student Council
We’re proud to have a Student Council at Inscape. They meet regularly with staff to make sure our students can get involved and create the kind of learning community they want to be a part of.
Careers education
We’re passionate about careers at Inscape! We organise events throughout the year where you can talk to different employers, learn about professions and the world of work, and ask for advice if you’re interested in a particular career.
We also organise placements for students with employers from across Greater Manchester that align with your areas of interest where you can learn new skills and build your confidence.

Other questions you may have
What time does school start?
Our day starts at 8.55am and finishes at 3.00pm. Registration for the morning closes at 9.30am and at 2.00pm in the afternoon.
What facilities do you have?
We’ve got everything covered from sensory rooms, adventure playground, outdoor gym equipment, sensory playground and outdoor learning area.
Our green-fingered students can develop their horticulture skills in our gardens. Aspiring chefs can experiment in our fully equipped kitchen and onsite cafe and computer-savvy students can put their skills to the test in our ICT suite.
We also have a beautiful art room and fully-kitted out science lab to support students’ access to a full and wide-ranging curriculum.
I hear you have animals! What animals do you have?
We have a number of animals here at Inscape House as part of something called our animal assisted intervention program (AAI).
Our students have weekly sessions led by Danielle. She ensures the safety and wellbeing of our animals as well as delivering fun, educational sessions for our students.
In these sessions, you’ll learn about walking, brushing, petting and caring for animals. Lots of students find these sessions particularly useful when they feel stressed or overwhelmed.
At the moment, the animals we have here include:
- Shabba the support dog
- Pepper and Pandora the guinea pigs
- Davey and Simba the tortoises
- Stitch the bearded dragon
