Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for Level 1 courses. Level 1 courses are designed for students with little or no qualifications or for those who have gaps in their education. However, students typically have GCSE grades 1–3 or Entry Level 3 qualifications. If a student has no qualifications, to access the courses, they need to be working at Entry Level 3 to be able to access the course.

Learners may progress onto one of our BTEC Level 2 courses upon successful completion of a Level 1 course.

Alternatively, learners must have a minimum of four or more GCSES at Grade 3 and above, or a relevant Level 1 qualification to access a Level 2 course.

Who are our learners?

Inscape House Vocational College benefits learners who have previously struggled to access education and who would thrive within a nurturing setting with a high staff-to-pupil ratio.

Learners are supported to follow a varied timetable and meet course criteria within an identified timescale inline with BTEC requirements.

Typically, our learners present with the following characteristics:

  • Low self-esteem
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • A diagnosis of ADHD/ASC/SEMH/Autism
