Meet the new members of Inscape House School<\/a>: the two friendly dwarf hamsters! Students returning to school after the summer break were pleasantly surprised by Danielle<\/a>, our award winning Animal Assisted Intervention<\/a> (AAI) practitioner, who has been busy onboarding the cheeky new members to the team. 
 
These two baby girls may be little but please don\u2019t let them fool you, they are very quick. They love spending time training on their running wheel. They sometimes even join the same running wheel at the same time, which often leads to one of them tumbling over mid-run. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a school-wide vote that saw over 100 votes being cast, we are proud to announce that our new team members are called Nibble and Nugget!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cStudents have been so good at welcoming them to our team. They love their cheeky personality!\u201d <\/p>\n– Danielle<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Nibble and Nugget join an already established team of support animals that include: Stitch<\/a> – the bearded dragon, Simba and Davey \u2013 the friendly tortoises, Pepper and Pandora \u2013 the adorable guinea pigs.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Animal Assisted Intervention is also a great tool to encourage students to think more about their emotions. Through a variety of games like conversation cubes, Danielle fosters a welcoming environment where students aren’t afraid to share how they feel. Alfie explains that touching the tortoises and playing with them makes him feel calm and more relaxed at school. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
