From deciding on destinations, planning a route and thinking about what kind of transport they are taking, students prepare for life after school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you enter the class you are welcomed by a big map of Manchester with pins and photos placed on locations that students have been already and enjoyed, or locations still on their bucket list.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.togethertrust.org.uk\/sites\/default\/files\/styles\/inline_image_full_width\/public\/Carnegie%20celebration_0.png?itok=9zONrLFX\" alt=\"A collage of 3 images: first a boy stands in front of a taxidermy of a sheep, in the second photo a boy navigates a map in a shopping mall, in the third photo a boy stands in a room lit by neon lights. \" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This term has been a busy one, with trips to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the Imperial War Museum where students visited a temporary exhibition called &#8220;Chila Welcomes You\u201d, a colorful\u00a0art installation with\u00a0light-based neons by artist Chila Kumari Singh Burman.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Manchester Museum for the \u2018Wild\u2019 exhibition, examining our relationship with the natural world.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>few trips to the Arndale Shopping Center for a walk around the shops. Students lead the way around the shopping mall to check out their favourite stores, look at items and compare prices.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the temporary Lowry exhibitions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cheadle library<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>and many more!\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Travel training teaches our young people a whole variety of skills from learning\u00a0to navigate public transportation independently, fostering independence, and boosting self-esteem.
