On 15 February, students from Inscape House School<\/a>, one of our specialist learning environments, were invited to Mercedes in Stockport for a tour of their showroom and to learn about jobs at the company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The trip was organised by Inscape’s careers department to give students the opportunity to learn about careers at Mercedes and, of course, see some amazing cars! Students were thrilled to be able to sit in and explore a lot of the cars in the showroom, talk to members of staff at Mercedes, and find out more about the company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They went away with Mercedes-branded hats and a number of souvenirs which will act as wonderful reminders of the day!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The automotive industry continues to make great strides in breaking down barriers when it comes to inclusion and diversity, but when it comes to neurodiversity there\u2019s still a long way to go. It has to start by removing the bias that still exists and it is down to us to make that change. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Events like this are so powerful in getting our young learners with autism to think about their futures and the different jobs and pathways that are available to them.
