Before the end of the academic year, children and young people at Inscape House School enjoyed their annual fun-filled sports day. Nursery pupils and senior students aged five to 17 were all welcome to turn up at the school\u2019s sports field and participate in the competitions, regardless of their sporting abilities. The young enthusiasts had the chance to demonstrate their sporting spirit in a range of activities, including sponge a teacher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI don\u2019t do sports outside school but I enjoyed taking part in the activities today. I competed in the running race, and I was kind of good \u2013 I came third.\u201d <\/p>\n– Liam*, Year 5<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The event was organised by Emily Read, MUFC SEND Officer and Gareth Daynes, Deputy of Pastoral Care and Support, whose aim was to get everyone involved, including the students who don\u2019t want to engage with sport:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMany students at Inscape House School have previously had unpleasant experiences with sports in mainstream schools, as it can get quite competitive there. So, we\u2019re trying to give them a chance to participate and enjoy sports activities in a relaxed and welcoming environment.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the outdoor contests, the students could participate in indoor activities such as cornhole, table tennis, and arts and crafts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
