The event saw tens of students walk through the doors of the big hall to learn more about animal ecosystems and how to protect them.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event, organized by Danielle, our Animal Assisted Intervention teacher, was focused on conservation and the impact of human activity on animal welfare. There were plenty of fun activities like a coloring and storytelling corner, a video game on the interactive screen, foam and inflatable toys, and a meet and greet with our therapy tortoises: Davey and Simba. On top of this, there were plenty of educational activities where students got to learn more about:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>poaching\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>how common palm oil is in everyday products<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>how pollution affects our oceans\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the impact of oil on bird feathers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ice caps and penguin habitats<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>deforestation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" data-id=\"1486\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.togethertrust.org.uk\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2026\/01\/World-Animal-Day-4-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"Two students interacting with an oil spill activity. Students were really interested in learning more fun facts about animals, but also discovering how we can protect them.&#8221;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>When asked about their favourite fun fact of the day, one of our students proudly informed us that&nbsp;<em>&#8220;Flamingos don&#8217;t actually eat fish!
