Tea, Coffee and Cakes Galore

Churches get ‘together’ to kick off our Better Together Week!

The parishes of Gatley URC and St. James Church helped support Better Together Week by organising a very popular coffee morning on Saturday 30th October. Both coffee and conversations were flowing throughout the morning and along with the raffle and Christmas card sales on offer, it really did start Better Together Week off with a BANG!

On 3rd November, Chelwood Baptist Church in Cheadle Hulme hosted a coffee and cake afternoon. Their café on Grosvenor Road was full to the brim of supporters eager to enjoy lots of homemade cakes, scones and mince pies. A big thank you to all of the Nigellas and Delias in the Parish who baked such delicious cakes helping us to raise vital funds.

Trinity Church in Cheadle pulled out all of the stops for their coffee morning on the 5th November. Visitors were treated to all sorts of produce on sale from marmalade to chocolate cake to shortbread. No-one left empty handed due to an ‘everyone’s a winner’ raffle and homemade cards on sale. Thank you in particular to the very keen volunteers in the kitchen who did a sterling job of keeping tea topped up and serving a never ending supply of teacakes and toast!
