London to Paris cycle - 11 to 15 Jul 2012

11th to 15th July 2012
Cycle from London to Paris

Cycling from London to Paris is one of the great cycle experiences in Europe, passing through picturesque countryside, crossing the channel and cycling through small villages and medieval market towns in Northern France. With long days in the saddle and some strenuous hill climbs, the sight of the Eiffel Tower (the finishing point!) will evoke a real sense of achievement.

Itinerary

DAY 1: An early start from South East London avoids the morning traffic. The route takes you South East away from the main routes towards Tonbridge and on through the Kent countryside to Dover where you catch the ferry to Calais.

DAY 2: After breakfast you will head South through the beautiful French countryside. The route will take you along small quiet roads through villages and small towns. Spend the night in Arras.

DAY 3: Continue south through villages and along quiet French roads to the more forested region around Compiegne, where you spend the night.

DAY 4: The final day cycling takes you South West, initially through small villages and woodland, before you meet the outskirts of Paris. Cycle though the Parisian streets and around the Arc de Triumph to the finishing point beneath the lofty arches of the Eiffel Tower. Celebration meal and spend the night in Paris.

DAY 5: A day in Paris! Eurostar to London.
