Bupa Great Manchester Run - 20 May 2012

The Bupa Great Manchester Run is the nation’s favourite 10k running event. 2012 is its 10th year and approximately 38,000 runners will take to the streets which takes in the top sights of Manchester’s vibrant city centre.

We have 25 runners taking part this year raising money for the Together Trust plus corporate teams from Gorvins Solicitors, Stockport and Threesixtyservices LLP, Cheadle Hulme.

We would also like to thank Elite Health, private exercise studio and sports injury clinic for offering to provide massages to our weary runners on the day.

Sarah Daniels ran in memory of her father John who was tragically killed in a motorbike accident in 2010. John had worked for the Together Trust for 12 years. Sarah said “I am doing this run so I can contribute towards the life changing work my dad did and keep his memory alive”.

Martin Hughes works for Ikea and he said “Even though the weather was cold and wet, the warmth and support for the Together Trust staff and its supporters along the 10 kilometre course made up for the typical Manchester weather! I thoroughly enjoyed the day and I was raising money at the same time!”

Nikki Girvan from Tangerine PR siad “Running the Bupa Great Manchester Run to raise money for the Together Trust was a fantastic experience. As I’m not a natural athlete, it was hard work, but being cheered along on the way round by other runners who were also supporting the Together Trust, and of course by the thousands of spectators, gave me such a buzz – I’d recommend it to anyone!”
