Post-fostering support

The Together Trust aims to provide its foster carers with a high level of support.

Support is provided day and night – help from a qualified social worker is only ever a phone call away. We have a 24 hour phone line, our response is rapid and accessible at any point of crisis. The following is a summary of the support we provide to our foster families.

• Access to a duty social worker 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year
• An attractive financial package for each child placed, which includes a reward element for foster carer that recognises skills and experience
• Up to 14 days respite
• Annual fostering holiday
• Supervision from a qualified social worker
• Support in meeting the child’s educational needs through our educational support workers
• Support at professionals meetings
• Frequent support telephone calls
• A regular programme of training delivered to meet foster carers’ needs and achieve the CWDC standards in foster care and Level 3 NVQ
• Consultation with a psychologist
• Regular support group meetings with other foster carers to share experiences and knowledge 
• Regular organised activities for carers, their family and the children they look after
• Specialist training
• Additional resources to support any child in placement from our dedicated support team
• Individual membership to the Fostering Network which includes a host of benefits and free services (the Fostering Network Membership Package)
• Children’s groups
• Quarterly newsletter
• Foster carers’ reviews chaired by an Independent Reviewing Officer
• Advice, guidance and assistance when you need it.
