SK30+

New adult community services in Stockport

SK30+ is now open at Kershaw’s Tannery, Portwood, Stockport.

The facility provides an innovative new community service for adults with learning disabilities aged 30 and over. Service users are encouraged to engage in a range of individually tailored, creative, social and vocational activities, all designed to assist the adults in developing the skills they need for independence and helping them gain access to the wider community.

In addition to a large activity room and art studio, SK30+ has a fully equipped sensory room, thanks to generous donations from a number of organisations including £10,000 from the Wates Enterprise Trust, and a special effort from the Newbridge staff who raised an additional £3,000 by taking part in the London Marathon and Great Manchester Run.
