Newbridge Stockport

In Stockport we provide a community based service that offers a comprehensive programme including individual and group activities as well as personal care.

Every day there is a choice of activities, such as creative and sensory sessions, swimming, football, yoga, computers, music, drama, enterprise, Makaton, horticulture and travel training. Many of these activities take place in the local community using our vehicles, as well as public transport. More vocational skills can be acquired by joining either the Café Team who serve up hot food every day or the Gardening Team who grow food for the Café and maintain the courtyard garden.

The service is currently for 18 to 30 year olds, although a service for over 30's is in development, which will encompass similar values and activities, but with an increased focus on developing independence. Newbridge is well resourced and accessible, providing a lively environment, as well as a low stimulus and a sensory room to suit individual needs and tastes.

Fundamental to the quality of our provision is our collaboration and partnership with young people, families, carers, professional and a range of organisations. This emphasis on collaboration ensures the service remains person centered and responsive and shapes its future direction.
